Well hello! I’m Charlene Richardson and I’m so excited that you decided to check us out and hope we’ll have the opportunity to work together. I’m a bit of a unicorn in this industry with extensive experience in technology and home care. I have a great deal of empathy for those who are caring for members of our society who need love, and support, and especially an advocate because of my own personal experience as a family caregiver.
I grew up in a large family and was blessed to be able to spend a great deal of time with my MawMaw and PawPaw whom I adored. Meaning, I was deeply impacted by the loss of these role models, especially MawMaw, who worked her whole life tirelessly caring for others. To illustrate this, at 85, she took a part-time job. When I asked her what she did, she said “I take care of old people.” While not politically correct, she pointed out her favorite was a woman who was 104. MawMaw was the original Superwoman but, unfortunately, Alzheimer’s was her kryptonite.
Watching those I love battle health concerns, aging, cancer and Alzheimer’s led me to reevaluate my career path so that I could apply my skills and compassion to improve the care for others. So yes, I spent most of my career in high tech industry working primarily with Long Term Care facilities and hospitals but happily ended up in the home care space specifically for the last 10 years. In the last two years, I had the opportunity to help many more home care agencies through my role at a large software-as-a-service company.
I am excited to continue my quest to improve the care of the greatest generation that ever lived and look forward to changing the way you care.
See you soon!
Charlene Richardson
